Generative AI for real-world ship design and engineering

An overheard view of a cargo ship with a text overlay that says AI.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming industries across the globe—some with subtle shifts, others with groundbreaking impact. But what happens when shipbuilding, one of the world’s most traditional and conservative industries, meets the power of AI?

In the past, designers could only evaluate a handful of geometries to find the best hull design. Today, thanks to AI, that library can expand to thousands of hull forms, unlocking unprecedented innovation and efficiency.

Join us for this exclusive webinar where we explore how AI is revolutionizing ship design.

Compute Maritime

Shahroz Khan

CEO

Shahroz Khan is the CEO of Compute Maritime, a serial entrepreneur and a leading expert in applying artificial intelligence to maritime engineering design. With over a decade of experience, in 2015 he pioneered ModiYacht—the first patented tool for semantic modeling of yachts—now used by Samsung and other major maritime companies. Following this success, he founded Barinlabs focused on generative AI for product design, which was later acquired. As a Marie Curie Fellow during his PhD, Khan introduced Generative AI to the maritime industry with research backed by €3 million in EU funding. His international collaborations included work at NTUA, Italian National Research Council, UC Berkeley and the University of Tokyo. Khan has authored approximately 20 research publications and holds two patents in AI-driven engineering design.
