Unlocking HVAC system models ROI through democratization

With continuous pressure for personalization, major HVAC players embrace modeling techniques from CFD to system simulation to gain competitive advantage, but what could be the next step? Would it be possible to share the knowledge of a few system experts and the power of dynamic models with a larger community of non-experts? Is it realistic to consider the sales team as part of it?

In the first part of our webinar, we show how to increase the ROI of existing system models (Simcenter Amesim or Modelica models) by deploying them to the broader stakeholders. The democratization simulation platform provides collaborative management of model parameters and revisions a reality while increasing traceability and compliance. Further, we will demonstrate implementing a dynamic multi-physics model and the control algorithm to support design.

The second part highlights the value of multi-level modeling, starting from a simple approach for early design up to the other end of the spectrum, combining 1D and 3D CFD. We also discuss converting the air conditioning model to a reversible heat pump model and its complete control optimization.

In short, we show you how we can help you to:

  • Cascade the building requirements to the HVAC system
  • Select best component technologies and references for the HVAC systems: expansion device (short tube or EXV), compressor (scroll, screw), heat-exchangers beyond worse case or regulation scenarios to include real-life dynamics
  • Develop and validate an optimized control strategy for the maximum thermal comfort with the minimum energy consumption
  • More important: how most of this can be accessible to non-experts under the supervision of your advanced engineering team
