Course Instructor
Hugh is a part-time course instructor at Seneca Polytechnic in the EMA program. For the past 5 years, he has been introducing students to various NX applications from part and assembly, drafting, motion, Mechatronics Concept Designer, Line Designer and CAM. He also teaches in the space engineering program in the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University. There, he teaches NX with various CAE applications (Pre-Post, NX NASTRAN and Space Systems Thermal). In his presentation, he will discuss his work bringing the VR capabilities of NX to the Electromechanical Automation (EMA) program curriculum at Seneca Polytechnic in Toronto, Canada. Students and faculty alike have found the visualization in Immersive Explorer engaging. It is interesting to become familiar with a technology like VR and seeing how it will aid on-the-job design and simulations of the future.
Test Technician
Ricardo Ramirez is a Test Technician at TΓV SΓD and a Lead Robotics Coach. He is a graduate of Seneca Polytechnic, where he studied electromechanical engineering with a specialization in automation. During his time there, he had the opportunity to participate in the first Realize LIVE Design Hack, where they competed to implement ideas to the Kyburz e-rod vehicle design and presented their ideas to the judges and the OEM Council. He was also part of a podcast recapping what happened at the event and how it has helped them.
