MaxLinear: Unlocking power efficiency using Aprisa AI
MaxLinear partnered with Siemens to evaluate Aprisa AI’s design exploration capabilities on a set of critical blocks, aiming to improve power efficiency without compromising timing quality while using existing MaxLinear design constraints. The presentation outlines the project goals and the strong results achieved: a 19% reduction in total power while preserving timing closure. These gains were realized with reduced compute requirements and months of engineering time savings compared to traditional expert-driven iterative flows. MaxLinear also retained full visibility into generated optimization scripts, ensuring transparency and reusability.

Director of Physical Design
Ravi Ranjan is the Director of Physical Design at Maxlinear Inc. in Irvine, where he has been responsible for physical design and flow automation for designs from 0.28um to 5nm. Prior to joining Maxlinear Ravi worked at Rockwell Semiconductors, Mindspeed Technology, and Texas Instruments. Ravi Ranjan received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, in Kharagpur.
